Iconology

- looks at more than the face value of a symbol, taking into account its context - both historical and cultural

- looking as opposed to seeing
- using visual evidence to unlock the meaning
My thoughts
It was useful to get the distinction between the two terms and as a graphic designer these two terms are important to know and understand so after this lecture I will go back over my notes and begin to under the two terms in more detail.
