Process and Production (year 2) - Physical Studio - I am... with Nick Deakin (part 4 - extension)

After the last workshop with Nick I thought about how I could make type with sugar that is actually readable and neat. This got me thinking about using a stencil; at home I had some old stencils of shells and things relating to the sea, so I used these as an experiment.

The first time weren't that successful as the edges were blurred due to the sugar escaping the stencil. However, I didn't give up, I added weights around the area of the stencil to stop the sugar from moving around as much. This technique worked well and I would consider creating my own type stencils to experiment with this further.
