I decided to look into clever advertising after having a lecture recently with Peter Norris, who mentioned that scale shouldn’t limit us and we should think outside the box and then think about the logistics of it. The idea needs to come first and then worry about how it will be made.
I’m fan of clever advertising as it’s not just a plain advertisement, it has some depth to it and makes the audience look further for the message, making you really think about what the company wants. To the left are some of the advertisements I have seen on pinterest when looking for inspiration for my own campaign. Although they have a deep message the design is actually quite simple in cases which I think is why they work quite well as the message is put across clearly and simply to the viewer which means that the audience is more likely to act from viewing the advertisement.
I have looked at these clever advertisements as I’m looking to create my own clever ad campaign which I think is going to be a challenge as some of the most effective are really well planned out and it will be hard to do something that is original and hasn’t been done before. However, I will use these as inspiration and a base for my own designs.
