A conversation can be held through music as the artist is telling their story through the lyrics. The listener will then interpret this in their own way so the song means something to them.
You can see how some songs can influence and change an individuals life through seeing lyrics being tattooed on them and lyrics are posted on social media on a daily basis.
Although songs can create a mutual connection/conversation between people; I feel that some can create a negative through the use derogatory language. This language, as it is being voiced by celebrities/artists it gives people the impression that this is acceptable and is the normal. When in fact this language should be discouraged.
So for this idea I would think about creating an ad campaign to highlight the lyrics as in most cases people don’t realise what they’re singing. I think it would be interesting to involve the use of emoji’s as in recent years people can relate to these emoji’s and the message seems clearer. Also it allows to express emotion.
Idea 2
These social platforms that are taking over lives are useful in the sense that it allows you to connect with people from all over the planet and also allows you to broaden your knowledge.
However, the negative to the internet is that it gives people a confidence as they’re hiding behind a profile. For example some people will write comments etc.. virtually through a screen whereas in reality they wouldn’t say a word to that person.
This idea has progressed further in the sense that I could even look at the way celebrities will go against each other on social media such as twitter as like us they are doing it through a screen. Or could the twitter feuds all be fuelled through the fact they will gain publicity from doing so. Another question proposed is that if it is seen as acceptable for celebrities to ‘troll’ the internet then will normal people start to think that they can start to do the same and discard the thought for other people.
Idea 3
Iconic figures in our history have on many occasions given iconic speeches which we still recite and acknowledge.
As a tribute and appreciation for these powerful speeches I think that it would be interesting in trying to modernise these speeches whether it be through the language being used in the speeches or whether it be through visual communication instead.
This concept would involve firstly researching iconic speeches with Martin Luther King’s speech coming to mind straight away. Then I would compare some of the older speeches to more modern speeches and speeches from present day leaders such as Barack Obama. Then I would at different possible ways in which I could modernise the speeches.
